Arrest Made in Connection with Wichita Nightclub Shooting; Ongoing Investigation Persists

A 31-year-old individual named Brandon Young from Florissant, Mo., has been apprehended by the Wichita Police in relation to the shooting incident that took place at City Nightz in Old Town during the early hours of Sunday. Young faces two charges of aggravated battery. The shooting resulted in injuries to nine individuals, while two others were trampled, with the severity of their injuries ranging from minor to critical.

Authorities have hinted at the possibility of multiple individuals being involved in the shooting. In a press release issued on Monday morning, the Wichita Police Department (WPD) announced collaboration with state and federal law enforcement agencies to identify all those responsible and ensure they face legal consequences for their actions.

Fortunately, none of the injuries sustained were life-threatening. The victims at the scene were promptly transported to the hospital, and additional victims with minor injuries sought medical assistance on their own.

The shooting victims comprised six men aged 22, 24, 26, 29, 34, and two 25-year-olds, along with two injured women aged 22 and 24.

Investigators are still working to determine the motive behind the shooting. Subsequently, the case will be presented to the District Attorney’s office for further legal proceedings.
