Teen Dies After Taking Part In Viral “One Chip Challenge”

A tragic incident unfolded in Massachusetts when a young teen lost his life after participating in a viral social media challenge involving a highly spicy chip. Harris Wolobah was officially declared deceased at a local hospital this past Friday, following his discovery in a critical state at a residence in west Worcester, said Worcester Police Lt. Sean Murtha. The precise cause of his death is still under investigation by a medical examiner.

The school district where Wolobah was enrolled has confirmed the tragic news via a statement on their website. His family announced that funeral plans are underway and he will be laid to rest in the near future.

The social media challenge in question is called the “One Chip Challenge,” and it involves eating a corn chip coated with Carolina Reaper and Naga Viper peppers. These ingredients are known to be among the spiciest in the world, according to Paqui, LLC, the company responsible for manufacturing these chips. The company’s website explicitly states that these chips are intended for adult use and should be kept out of the reach of children.

As of Tuesday, representatives from Paqui, LLC, headquartered in Austin, Texas, have not been available for comment on the matter.

For those interested, Paqui chips are sold at various outlets including gas stations, pharmacies, and selected food stores, as listed on the company’s website.
