Satellite images reveal the magnitude of devastation in the war-torn Ukrainian city of Bakhmut

Satellite imagery presented above depicts the destructive impact on the heavily affected eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut throughout the past year.

On Wednesday, Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar shared Kyiv’s evaluation of the ground situation, affirming that Ukrainian forces have successfully secured substantial territories surrounding Bakhmut, which were previously under Russian control.

The official emphasized that nearly 20 square kilometers of liberated suburban regions remain under Ukrainian control, despite ongoing intense clashes in the vicinity of the city. Ukrainian troops have made advancements in certain areas, while there are reports of some progress by Russian forces as well.
